Where Keyplan 3D is stronger
Any shape
Walls go wherever you draw them, handy for an odd-shaped house. Most rooms are rectangles, though, and an L or a U is two or three of them joined, which is how Scooch builds them.
3D and decoration
Edit in 3D and paint or texture any surface, though recent reviews say the Lite version now locks the paint textures. Good for trying a colour; it does not change whether the wardrobe door clears the bed.
Price
Its Standard version is $5.99 once, less than Scooch's $9.99. Object packs are extra, from $1.99 each, so two of them bring it to about Scooch's price.
Where Scooch is stronger
A warning before you lift anything
Scooch outlines in red a piece that overlaps another or sticks out of the room. Keyplan's listing does not describe a check like that, and we did not get to test one.
Exact furniture sizes
Every piece resizes to the centimetre, and you can draw your own pieces at any size.
Upright, in 16 languages
Scooch works in portrait, the way you hold a phone, in 16 languages. On iPhone, Keyplan 3D runs in landscape only, in 10.
Room to open it, not just to stand it
Scooch draws each wardrobe door's swing, each drawer's pull-out and a sofa bed opened out, so you can see whether the door clears the desk and the drawer clears the bed, not only whether the piece fits.

Keyplan 3D and Scooch, side by side
Screens we captured ourselves, Keyplan 3D on the left, Scooch on the right. Ours ran on an EU App Store account, so prices on screen are in euros.†
A room
A 2.22 by 1.55 m room drawn in Keyplan 3D, which runs in landscape on iPhone, so its screens stand on their side here.
Choosing furniture
Keyplan 3D's catalogue, each piece with its size in centimetres, in landscape.
The upgrade screen
Keyplan 3D's shop in landscape: the Standard version once, or a starter pack with ten object packs.
What we saw using Keyplan 3D
On 23 October 2026, on an iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 27.0.1, on an EU App Store account.†
- On iPhone it only runs sideways, in landscape.
- It opened on a tutorial, then a binder of projects with four demo plans, each behind a padlock.
- Its shop sells the Standard version once, with every project tool and as many rooms as you want, or a starter pack with ten object packs.
- Four drags drew a room with its size and area, and its catalogue gives each piece's size in centimetres. We did not get to test furniture on top of furniture in it.
What Scooch does not do
- Draw angled walls. Rooms are rectangles you join into an L or a U.
- Decorate in 3D. No paint, textures or 3D view: Scooch is about whether things fit.
- Sell packs. $9.99 once covers every piece, with nothing extra to buy.
What recent reviews of Keyplan 3D mention
From the 50 most recent US App Store reviews of Keyplan 3D, read on 23 October 2026. These are individual experiences, not tests we ran, but these themes came up more than once:
- the Lite version asking for a purchase to add more rooms or use paint textures
- plans lost when moving to a new phone
- spaces that are hard to size precisely
Pricing
Keyplan 3D Lite is free to download; its Standard version is $5.99 once and object packs cost $1.99 to $2.99 each (US). Scooch is a free download; planning needs a one-time $9.99 unlock. Neither has a subscription.
Questions
Which is cheaper?
Keyplan 3D Lite: its Standard version is $5.99 once, against Scooch's $9.99. Neither has a subscription.
Does Keyplan 3D warn when furniture will not fit?
Its listing does not describe a check like that, and we did not get to test one (version 1.9.9, 23 October 2026). Scooch outlines a piece in red when it overlaps another or sticks out of the room.
Can Scooch draw angled walls?
No. Scooch rooms are rectangles; you build an L or a U by joining rooms.
Try Scooch
Rooms at their real size, furniture at real sizes, and a red outline when something does not fit. $9.99 once.
* We make Scooch, so weigh our view accordingly. Facts about the other apps come from their US App Store listings, purchase lists, privacy labels and public US reviews, checked on 23 October 2026, and from using each app ourselves. Versions compared: Keyplan 3D Lite 1.9.9, Scooch 1.0.2.
** US App Store prices. The US list does not name plan lengths, so a plan's length comes from the app's own upgrade screen, and a US price is used only where it clearly matches that plan. “Cost for one year if subscribed” is the cheapest listed plan that covers 12 months. A mark on “Pay once” only says whether a one-time unlock exists; “6× ours” compares a price with Scooch's $9.99 once.
*** As each listing describes it. A dash means the listing does not say, not that the app cannot do it.
† What we saw using each app ourselves, on 23 October 2026, on an iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 27.0.1, on an EU App Store account; screens from that account show euro prices, the prices on this page are the US ones. Offers can differ by country and change over time. On “Plan without paying”, a tick means free with no ads, amber means free with ads, an account or locked parts, a cross means a payment or a trial comes first, and a dash that we could not open the app. “Warns when furniture does not fit” is what happened when we took a furnished room from each app's own samples or templates and moved the coffee table onto the sofa.
