Terms of Use

Last updated: 28 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Scooch, the iPhone floor plan app made by Emils Ozols ("I", "me"). By downloading or using Scooch you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Using Scooch

You may use Scooch on Apple devices you own or control. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app.

The unlock

Scooch is free to download. You can draw your first room and see how your furniture fits; keeping going takes a one-time unlock. It is a single payment, not a subscription: nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.

The price is shown in the app before you buy and varies by country or region. Apple processes the payment through the App Store, tied to your Apple Account. On a new phone, tap Restore on the unlock screen to bring your purchase back.

If you installed Scooch before the unlock existed (version 1.0), you keep the whole app without paying. There is nothing to do on your side.

Refunds

Apple handles every payment, so I cannot issue refunds myself. You can ask Apple for one at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple's refund policy.

Your plans

What you draw in Scooch is yours. It lives on your device and, if backup is on, in your own iCloud, as the privacy policy describes.

Measurements

Scooch is a planning aid. A plan is only as accurate as the numbers you enter, and a drawing cannot see skirting boards, radiators or a wall that is not quite square. Measure the real thing before you buy, move or build anything. The same goes for the sofa fit calculator and the guides on this site: they are rules of thumb and flat-floor maths, not a promise that something fits.

Acceptable use

Use Scooch lawfully. Do not try to disrupt it, or to reach the systems it relies on without permission.

No warranty

Scooch is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Backups depend on your device, iOS and iCloud, which are outside my control, so export anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages from using Scooch or being unable to use it, including furniture bought or work done on the strength of a plan. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid for Scooch in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

I may change or remove features, and update these terms. If the terms change in a meaningful way, the date at the top changes too. Using Scooch after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia and the European Union. Nothing here limits the consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
